Canvys Announces FREE Browser-Based Mobile QA Test at RSNA 2011

LaFox, Illinois – November 28, 2011… Canvys®, a division of Richardson Electronics, Ltd., announces a new browser-based mobile quality assurance (QA) test (www.canvys.com/spottest) that can be used to determine how well you can view low-contrast detail on your imaging display device in your viewing environment. This QA test works on mobile tablets, smart phones (including Apple®, Blackberry®, and Android™ devices), laptop computers, commercial displays, and medical-grade radiology reading stations.

Canvys will demonstrate this free QA test tool at RSNA in Booth -7707 located in Hall B – North Bldg. This QA “Spot test” tool enables users to objectively measure their low-contrast acuity and provides a threshold number that can be used for comparison across display hardware and reading environments, providing another level of confidence in your viewing performance.

David Sorensen, Director of Operations at Canvys commented, “We are providing this QA test as a service to the medical imaging community. As long as you have a browser and access to the internet, you can take advantage of this test. With this test, you’ll be able to establish an objective digital driving level threshold number that you are able to detect. You’ll be able to compare your current level of performance to a baseline you establish, and then take appropriate actions, based on your results.”

The Canvys booth at RSNA will also be showcasing Image Systems X Series diagnostic and clinical imaging LCD displays; a 42 inch LCD for surgical suites, a 10MP LCD for Mammography, and a DICOM calibrated HP laptop. WIDE Corporation’s new MW100 – a 30-inch 10 MP LCD display, which has just received FDA 510k approval for Mammography offers visual performance and quality in a bezel free view and is fully compatible with CFS calibration software.

The Image Systems FP4201-MED large screen LCD is a medical grade display certified to EN/UL 60601 safety requirements for patient vicinity use. It features a unique, acrylic protective panel integrated and sealed into the bezel (IPX1-rated), which protects the screen and enables proper wipe-down and cleaning protocol. This 42” display utilizes full 1920 × 1080 HD resolution (2MP) and provides bright, clear images. The protective panel also guards against unintentional physical contact, maximizing each display’s long-term performance without compromising image quality.

Canvys will be demonstrating the world’s first DICOM® 3.14 calibrated mobile workstation (laptop). HP’s new HP EliteBook Mobile Workstations, utilizing the HP DreamColor display integrated with Canvys’ Image Systems CFS™ calibration software provides radiologists, clinicians and administrators the mobility they need without sacrificing computing power, processing speed or image quality anywhere and at anytime. The CFS™ WebSuite calibration software addresses the growing trend of workforce mobility by enabling administrators to access their deployed displays from any workstation or mobile device.
